Battery Draining Repeatedly? Check in This Order

A battery that keeps dying has a short list of real causes — and a clear order to check them in.

The symptom

Car won't start after sitting for a day or two.

What's causing it

A parasitic draw (something left on), weak alternator output, an aging battery, or loose terminal connections.

What to do

Check in order: parasitic draw first, then alternator output (13.5-14.5V is normal), then battery age (suspect it past 3 years), then clean and tighten the terminals.
